Our Approach

Little Boy Jumping

Play-Based & Relationship-Based

Placing the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of therapy is crucial for reaching the full potential for learning. This is why we prioritize building a solid and trusting foundation between child and therapist through playful interactions, motivating activities, and child-led play.

Child-Led & Strengths-Based

Our approach to therapy is to customize each session based on your child's unique strengths, and motivations.

By following your child's lead, we aim to create meaningful and enjoyable activities that promote their development and showcase their strengths.

Family At Church

Family-Centered

Although therapists are knowledgeable about child development, parents have unique expertise regarding their own child. Therefore, we work in partnership with families during the therapeutic process, aiming to provide parents with a fresh perspective on their child and empowering them to become their child's strongest advocate.

Hello!

My name is Karina Ayrapetyan,

I am an Occupational therapist and the owner of Play n' Grow Therapy. My specialty lies in emotional regulation and sensory processing, both of which set up a strong foundation for learning and development.

I am DIR/Floortime certified and follow it's core principles closely.

During therapy sessions, immerse myself into the child's play, with an open heart and mind, knowing the play scheme can go in any direction. The beauty of child led therapy is, if done right, can allow you an "inside glimpse" of the child's brain, how they process the world and how they learn.

Each child is unique, and so as we play, I observe them to learn more about their  sensory profile, play preferences, motivations, strengths, and challenges.  I enjoy working closely with parents to help teach them these tools, and empower them to be their child's biggest advocate.

I can't wait to meet you and your beautiful child, and start our therapeutic journey together.
